Haughmond Abbey
The ruins of Haughmond Abbey, just outside Shrewsbury. They Abbey dates back to the 11th century AD. It's set in some really pretty countryside... truly Wodehouse's gentle rolling hills and dales of Shropshire.
Come into my parlour, said the spider to the - ice?
It didnt snow in Shrewsbury, but there was hail for about two minutes - the tiniest little chips of ice that melted almost before they touched the ground. I noticed some of them caught on a spider's web by the fence - and here they are.
The lonely fisherman
He was sitting all by his ownsome lonesome by the riverside on a very cold evening. He was so busy sitting that he didnt reply when I asked if I could take his photo. In fact he didnt even look up when I clicked. I took the photo as quick as possible because my fingers were freezing in the biting wind. Man, it was cold! Dunno how he kept warm just sitting.
Muddy country lane - watercolour (2004)
